Rate of Pay: $16.50 / hour

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Receiving of all inbound raw ingredients, packaging, pallets and plant supplies

Operation of stand up and conventional forklifts, as well as all other required equipment

Performance of verification and accurate documentation of lot numbers and all other required information for inbound loads of material and supplies

Accurately identifies and labels inbound materials in accordance with Company warehouse storage policies and procedures

Manages storage, movement and transfers of materials inventory in storage rack and/or warehouse locations

Ensures proper stock rotation by following lot number identification and FIFO methodology

Accurately logs inventory data on daily inventory tracking sheet

Performs data entry functions related to ingredient transfers/movement/usage

Stages Packaging Materials and Ingredients needed for production

Performs various activities directly related to unloading of bulk and liquid materials

Monitors the Receiving and Unload processes for all inbound loads

Coordinates unload pit startup and ingredient verification with mill room

Performs general housekeeping (warehouse floors, racks, dock, bulk pit, trailers and office) activities

Safely, effectively and efficiently transfers freight between the main plant and off-site warehouse storage locations

Independently takes initiative to organize warehouse storage areas and manages floor stock by lot number

Operates yard tractor for spotting trailers at dock doors

Accurately logs all required internal and externally regulated transportation information for both internal transfers and direct deliveries to outside storage locations

Ensures all trailers are appropriately locked and secured

Responsible for management/organization of staged/stored trailers on parking lot

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains regular communication with the Receiving Team, Material Handlers, Quality Assurance Team, Mill Room Operators and Departmental Supervision/Management

Complies with all Company policies and procedures

Maintains accurate Quality and Unloading documentation

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a history of good work attendance, good communication skills, the ability to work well with others, and the willingness to work night shift, overtime, weekends, and possibly holidays

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds on a routine basis              
  • Regularly required to climb ladders, sit, stand, bend and lift up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather, climb ladders and work from heights
  • Able to walk/stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time
  • Able to work in confined/tight spaces
  • Potential to work long irregular hours (weekends and holidays included)
  • Ability to work in a potentially physically strenuous environment
  • Combination of Plant and Outside Dock environment
  • Exposure to elements such as odor, noise, heat, cold, dust & chemicals
  • Exposure to all types of weather
  • Work in environment with high levels of grain dust

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):

High School Diploma/GED - Preferred

Basic Mathematical skills

CDL A – Commercial Driver’s License Class A with Medical Card / 2 years minimum experience

2 years forklift operation in a manufacturing warehouse environment

Food/Pet food manufacturing or directly related Production/Manufacturing experience highly preferred
